Prevention of Elephantiasis


Elephantiasis is most commonly found in tropical regions of India, Africa, South Asia, and affects over 120 million people. Elephantiasis is consider one of most neglected diseases world wide. This video discusses the struggle of living with this horrible disease and ways to prevent and control the transmission of the Filariasis parasitic worm.

    This disease has made me appreciate where I live. I'm glad we are not a tropical Country. It is said to see how this disease is common and accepted in parts of the world.

    Are the any cases of this disease in the neotropics (south america), or just tropical Africa and Asia?

      Elephantiasis is found in all tropical regions where poverty is high, but Africa and Asia hold the most cases.
